How CO2 Works…
The procedure aims to remove the layers of skin to make way for the newer skin to appear on the surface. The area to be treated is numbed using sedatives or local anesthesia. Then the skin is ablated by exposing it to a continuous fine beam of laser light. This removes the epidermis of the skin and initiates collagen production. Since the laser heats the skin and creates a controlled injury to the skin, the skin reacts by stimulating a healing process. The layers of skin that come up after the treatment look younger and smooth, free from fine lines and wrinkles.
